Great place to stop in and eat some very good comfort food! We had the artichoke pasta with chicken and the shrimp stuffed mushrooms, very tasty and filling. Our server (Jessica) was also the bartender and hustled around thru the dinner hour with speed and efficiency, great job!

I think I have discovered one of Michigan's Best Restaurants. There's so much love put in this place. The owner, Sherie, loves what she does and it shows. The food is amazing! They make everything in house! From bread to croutons, to dressings to hand cut lettuce! The pasta was excellent, the fish was perfect. The servers were wonderful. I can't wait to be back! Mackinaw city could use a great restaurant like this. Impressive.

We always come here on our way across the bridge. We always forget how huge the portions are. Highly recommend the mushrooms for an appetizer! You get plenty and the ranch is homemade! We had fish dinners with homemade mashed potatoes! Wished we lived closer

Everyone raved about their fish so we decided to try it out Friday night. The place was very busy but staff did a great job for being short handed. Food was good and the portions are definitely worth the money. The onion rings are the best we've had in a long time. We went back Saturday to try something else and the BLT was amazing. Again, great service and really good food! We'll stop in again when we come back up.

When we pulled in, and even more when we walked in, we were super unimpressed. Thankfully that turned around almost immediately with the friendly staff and almost entirely HOMEMADE menu! Hubby got French onion soup and we split spinach artichoke dip and both were quite tasty and served with homemade bread. Our entrees were no different, in that they were clearly homemade and cooked fresh. We were disappointed that we were too full for dessert because the super friendly manager told us that's all homemade too!

For an unassuming hole in the wall, they definitely delivered and we WILL be back!

Really good dinner experience in Cheboygan, Michigan. Enjoyed the mixed appetizer plate of onion rings and fried mushrooms. Limited winter hours so get there early and enjoy the friendly service.

Not only have we dined at the restaurant, we also had the pleasure of working with the staff and owner at an event they catered. I own a mobile bartending service and eat catered event meals 4+ times a week. We have all had the dry chicken at a wedding but only a few of us have had the moist, tender, and delicious chicken from Great Lakes Grill. The food was hot, cooked to perfection, FLAVORFUL and most importantly DELICIOUS. The staff was wonderful to work with and the owner Shari is a delight to know. If you are ever in Cheboygan, MI or even near by, make it a point to take a meal with these fine folks, your mouth and your wallet will thank you.

We were staying in Mackinaw City for our 20 year wedding anniversary. Sick of the overpriced food in Mackinaw City, we decided to explore outside of the tourist area. Made our way to Cheboygan to try Great Lakes Grill. I am so happy we did!!! Our server Amy was probably one of the sweetest people we have ever met. The food was absolutely delicious! The smothered chicken was so good and the French onion soup was some of the best I have ever had. My wife had the broiled cod, red mashed potatoes, homemade gravy and cottage cheese, and she loved every bite she could fit in her. Through our conversations with Amy, it came up that it was our 20th wedding anniversary that day. Shortly after Amy came out with the owner (I assume) with a piece of cake and a candle to celebrate our anniversary. No extra charge. In fact our whole bill was around the same price as one meal at the restaurants in Mackinaw City. If you are in the Mackinaw City area on vacation or even if you live in the area, ditch the high priced restaurants there and take the short 20 minute drive to Cheboygan to the Great Lakes Grill. You will not be disappointed in the food, the service, or the price!

I had my wedding shower here. Staff was so polite and efficient. Best service and made my day extra special. They even allowed us to take leftovers home. What a wonderful experience.

WOW!!! What a cute, hidden gem right in the heart of Cheboygan!! And the bar area is so classy!! DON'T MISS THIS RESTAURANT!!! Cute decor, too!!
We arrived right before the rush of customers and were greeted with a warm, friendly smile from the owner, Shari. We were quickly seated with menus and served their scrumptious homemade bread. There are so many delicious food options that it was difficult to choose. My husband had the Great Lakes Whitefish. The piece of fish was HUGE and tasty. His dinner came with a dinner salad and baked potato. I had the shrimp scampi. It was very flavorful with garlic and full of large shrimp. My dinner came with a dinner salad and their delicious garlic bread. We each ordered Gin & tonics, made just like we like them. And dessert...............OH!!! The carrot cake is to "die" for!! Overall, our dining experience was very pleasant with LARGE portions at a very fair price. It is evident that this restaurant takes pride in their business, serves delicious food and treats their customers right. I suspect that's why the locals keep coming back. THANK YOU, Shari and Dave!! This is most definitely the best restaurant I've ever eaten at. Exquisite food, incredible service and an overall welcoming home-like environment. 5 stars, I highly recommend to all whom are looking for a great place to eat & relax

We used Great Lakes Grill to cater my dad's wake. Everyone enjoyed the food and the service was great. The fresh bread was amazing. My brother can't stop talking about it, lol. Sherri was so easy to work with and was patient with my family as we are terrible planners, lol. I highly recommend Great Lakes Grill.
